Curriculum Equality and Accessibility

We have high aspirations for all our children and our teaching is tailored to the needs of every learner.

We have designed our own inclusive curriculum to ensure that all children at St Michael's are able to achieve their full potential through our curriculum drivers, irrespective of race, gender, disability, belief, sexual orientation, age or socio-economic background.

'The vibrant curriculum and enrichment programme are due to school leaders' commitment that all pupils should enjoy the 'fullness of life'.'

Our Heritage Weeks

We are very proud of our heritage here at St Michael's.

The school is built on top of the site of a Roman basilica in the heart of what was once the Roman town of Verulamium.

The school was founded in 1876 when Queen Victoria was on the English throne.

We think it is important for the children to understand the history of their community.

In the autumn term, the children consider what life would have been like in our community during Roman times.

In the spring term, the children study the school log books to find out about what life was like for children who went to the first St Michael's School.

In the summer term, the children consider their own legacy. They think about the unique contribution they can make to the lives of those around them and how they would like to be remembered in the future.
