SEND Resources

New to SEND?

If you're new to SEND then knowing where to start finding the right support for your child can be overwhelming.  Your child may have just been diagnosed with SEND, or may be in the process of being assessed. Or perhaps you've just started to notice that your child or young person is developing, behaving, or learning differently to their peers.  It can be a confusing time. You can contact Mrs Crooks (SENCo- Special Educational Needs Coordinator) or visit The Local Offer website which gives you the right information to support you and your family.

The Hertfordshire Local Offer

The Local Offer lets parents and young people know what special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) services are available in Hertfordshire, and who can access them.

DSPL is a Hertfordshire-wide partnership approach where parents, carers, staff in early years settings and schools, further education colleges, local authority officers and representatives from other agencies, work together as part of an Area Group to ensure that there is a range of provision and support services available in their local community. As a school in St Albans, St Michael's school is part of DSPL7. Please visit the DSPL7 website, which provides information on Special Educational Needs and Disabilities for education settings and families.
