St Michael's 'Unusual Reading Place' Reading Challenge

This year, the library committee would like to introduce St Michael's own reading challenge/competition: reading in an unusual place! 

We challenge the children to read in the most unusual (but safe) reading place possible. Below are some suggestions from our library committee:

• whilst sliding down a slide
• on an aeroplane
• hanging upside down 
• on a trampoline
• in a sofa cushion fort
• under the bed

Should your child wish to enter the competition, please take a photo of them reading in their unusual place. The photo can then be sent to the admin email or brought into school. There will be four winners: one from EYFS, Key Stage 1, Lower Key Stage 2 and Upper Key Stage 2 (please note: the children will enter as their previous class e.g. a child in Year 2 academic year 23/24 will enter as a Year 2 child). Each winner will receive a £10 Waterstones voucher! The deadline to submit photos will be Friday 6th September 2024.
