Religion and World Views
This half term Year 4 have been exploring the big question "Why do people worship?". As part of this learning, we have thought about places of worship, focusing on Christian churches and mosques in Islam. The children created stained glass windows depicting important Christian symbols, which are now displayed in the classroom.

Poetry Week
To celebrate poetry week, Year 4 have written 'Becoming...' Poems inspired by Ella Frears’s poem ‘Becoming Moss’. We explored the use of personification, repetition and metaphor in poetry to describe the characteristics of a plant or animal. The original poem was commissioned to promote the conservation of peatland habitats, a unique habitat that takes in excess carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. This gave the children a good opportunity to think about the plants and animals they would like to protect.
Please enjoy the poems shared below.
